April's Presentation: Mark Odom, "Shaping the Missing Middle"
Mark Odom, AIA, is the founding principal of Mark Odom Studio, will discuss his work in this original presentation, "Shaping the Missing Middle."
"Missing Middle" describes housing that falls between single-family on single lots and large-scale multi-family buildings. Hence "middle." It is largely absent from Austin, and cities like it, that developed rapidly after WWII, and so "missing," but represents a more traditional, more sustainable way of building cities.
Join us as Mark presents recent work in these building types. Come early for light refreshments and to enjoy the beautiful garden at Articulture Designs!
What to Expect at Architalks
Inspiration. Insight. Discussion.
The talks are usually 45 minutes, with time for a few questions at the end. The talk is in the equally-inspiring Articulture gardens. So come early, relax, look around. Have a great time!
Wine and beer will be provided along with some snacks and soft drinks. The series is free, but you must RSVP as space is limited. (And if you RSVP early, but later discover you can't make it, please let us know so we can open up your seat.)
If the parking lot is full upon arrival, there is ample parking available here.
RAIN DATE: In the case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Wednesday, April 18th.
